Discussion: A front is expected to zip through the region on Saturday, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the region. Some of these cells will produce heavy rainfall and thus up the flood potential. Areas in the ‘notable’ risk have over 1″ – 1.5″ of rainfall. Moderate is 1.5″ – 2.5″. High risk is 2.5″ and above. The high risk exists across New York City and parts of CT … but that is about where the heaviest rainfall will be.
